An industrial supplier asked us to provide replacement springs per their design. The extension springs would crack at a certain torque. After understanding how they were using the spring, we thought the mechanism would work better with swivel hooks versus extended hooks, thus allowing more fluidity, range of motion and less stress. The design worked so well, they haven't ordered any replacements since. We designed ourselves right out of an order!

MAKING IT WORK... PERIOD
Many times springs and wire forms are the last items to be considered in new product design. Since the overall product design is set, the spring or wire form has many constraints. In one instance, the engineer for a lock manufacturer brought his locks to our facility. With the help of spring design software, we designed the best performing spring before actual production. We set up and ran a machine while he waited so he could take samples back. This kind of advanced planning decreases risk of design failure and costly changes.

IDEAS THAT CUT COSTS
Frequently quotes come across asking for costly finishes. We review these specs and offer alternative materials that come pre-plated. This not only saves cost but also decreases lead times. The purchasing agent is able to reduce his/her cost and cycle time.
